    Chairperson

    John has a three-decade career as an entrepreneur, investor, inventor, and technologist. He excels as a corporate advisor and is a board member and investor in numerous start-ups. John founded The Trust Creation to address core issues in leadership and sustainability.

    ‍His extensive background spans cybersecurity, software development, investment banking and health. John has been instrumental in advancing renewable energy and bio fuels initiatives, cultivating strong global relationships with project stake holders and technology developers.

  • Neil Goldenberg

    Board of Directors

    Neil, a CPA with 35+ years of experience, excels in CFO, assurance, and advisory roles. His expertise spans financial reporting, complex transactions, SEC compliance, internal controls and M&A. Neil is an exceptional leader and has successfully managed multi-million-dollar IPOs, improved forecasting, developed robust financial systems and was a director with KPMG and partner at Eisner-Amper. In his recent role as interim CFO and global controller for a non-profit serving African farmers, Neil lead the development of global financial processes and planning.

    John’s professional career started with the founding of a property business that generated AU$35 million in three years. Transitioning to mining, John, a 40% owner, was instrumental in developing a mineral resource valued at AU$150 million.

    John has commercialized a variety of technologies, which led to establishing a development and financing service for technology and project developers. His expertise has contributed to projects valued at over US$3 billion in sectors such as renewable fuel, agriculture, aquaculture, mining and environment.

    Chief Operations Officer

    With over 40 years of experience in the energy sector, Karl is a seasoned entrepreneur, industry executive, and project manager with astute understanding of the industry. He excels in developing robust relationships and spear heads business development in energy conservation and management.

    Karl specializes in best-in-class renewable energy technologies, and is recognized as a subject matter expert. Karl is outstanding at developing risk mitigation strategies to protect large-scale energy projects from failure and financial loss.

  • Jay Fossett

    Chief Business Officer

    Jay is a seasoned business and investment advisor, bringing 15 years of expertise in crafting investment and business strategies. His focus spans infrastructure, agriculture, and technology investments. He excels in investment staging for sovereign entities, management structuring for early-stage tech and science firms, infrastructure project advisory, and guidance for emerging market investment funds.

    ‍Jay actively participates in panels and working groups, and maintains strong relationships with key entities like the African Union, US and UK investment groups, World Bank, DFC, Swedfund, and the United Nations.

  • Nathan L. Hart

    Chief Development Officer

    Nathan has dedicated his career to enhancing tribal economies, collaborating with tribal Nations, state governments, and organizations committed to the progress of Indigenous peoples. His roles have focused on affordable housing, tribal economic advancement, education, and leadership development rooted in Indigenous values-based community capacity-building.

    Nathan is an alumni of the Americans for Indian Opportunity leadership program, which champions the cultural, political, and economic rights of Indigenous peoples.

  • Jonathan Cheng

    Director of Finance

    Jonathan has a MBA in finance from Northeastern University, and a BA in General Engineering from Harvey Mudd College. He is the founder of Breakwater Investment Group with 30 years of experience. Breakwater Investment Group is a Native-owned and operated Registered Investment Advisor helping indigenous communities protect their financial assets. He serves as CFO for Kamaka, Ltd a Maori owned renewable energy company based in New Zealand.

    Jonathan has served in the role of CFO for a number of early stage energy projects and project companies. The general engineering studies coupled with his finance background provide his prior work efforts with a strategic skill set.

  • Marlin Dean

    Marketing Director

    Marlin possesses 25 years of commercial experience as a successful serial entrepreneur. He has an impressive track record of expanding globally recognized brands such as Anytime Fitness, Toyota, and Vodafone. Marlin also served on the World Indigenous Business Forum and played a key role in developing the commercial growth strategy for tribal post-treaty settlements valued at NZD $1.5 billion.

    His primary focus at Avaris is on fostering strong relationships with indigenous communities to collaborate on large-scale carbon-neutral, eco-industrial parks in the Asia-Pacific region, with indigenous tribes as equity partners.
